Uradome Coast Genki Festival (Iwami Fireworks Festival)

Fireworks reflected in the Sea of Japan create a wondrous atmosphere at Iwami Town's biggest summer event

This festival, held every year in late July along the Uradome Coast, known as one of the most scenic spots in the prefecture, is Iwami Town's largest summer event.

The municipal car park at Uradome Coast, the venue for the event, is lined with food stalls offering local gourmet delights. A special stage features various performances, attracting many visitors from both within and outside the town.

The highlight of the event is the grand finale, which sees about 3,800 bursts of fireworks launched into the sky. Against the lights from fishing torches on squid fishing boats anchored offshore, the dazzling fireworks are reflected on the surface of the sea. The magical lights brighten up the summer night, creating memories that you will never forget.
