Kaigara-bushi Festival
Throngs of dancers fill the venue with their vibrant energy!
Kaigara-bushi, which originated in Hamamura village in Ketaka Town, is a Japanese folk song sung by fishermen as they gather shells onto their boats. The Kaigara-bushi Festival is an event held in early August every year.
The highlight of the festival is the Kaigara-bushi So-odori, which sees around 1,000 dancers take to the Hamamura Tourist Road to perform in a dazzling parade. In addition to the traditional Kaigara-bushi, a pop arrangement of the song titled “Kaigara-bushi New Version” is also featured, creating an exciting atmosphere that fuses old and new dance styles.
Stage shows and food stalls are also available in this lively summer event where you can experience Japanese regional culture.
