Local Products Plaza Wattaina
A market that is representative of Tottori’s food culture
This market brings together a wide variety of agricultural products from throughout Tottori Prefecture. As the largest direct sales space in the prefecture, it offers a wide selection of fresh local ingredients delivered directly from agricultural cooperatives, including pears, Wagyu beef, “Sakyu rakkyo,” (“sand dune pickled Japanese shallot”), yam, and watermelons, just to name a few.
Terrace seating is available at the restaurant, complete with ocean views as you enjoy cuisine prepared with seasonal ingredients. Popular highlights include handmade gelato made from fresh milk, as well as the deli counter.
Together with the adjoining Karoichi Fish Market, this market represents the beating heart of Tottori's food culture and promotes local production for local consumption.
“Wattaina" is a dialect expression from eastern Tottori Prefecture meaning “Wow, that's amazing!”
