Tottori Castle Ruins / Kyusho Park, Cherry Blossom Illumination
Venue: Tottori Castle Ruins, Kyusho Park
Tottori Castle Ruins are the remains of a castle that once served as a base for many samurai warriors. From the Ninomaru (second bailey) area at the top of the stone steps, you can enjoy sweeping views of Tottori City, making it a popular spot for the breathtaking scenery.
Beautiful Kyusho Park, developed from the ruins of Tottori Castle, is known as one of the top cherry blossom viewing spots in the prefecture. In spring, around 200 cherry blossom trees, primarily the Somei Yoshino variety best known in Japan, burst into beautiful bloom. During the cherry blossom season, typically from late March to early April every year, the moat surrounding the castle and the Ninomaru area are illuminated by traditional Japanese lanterns called “bonbori.” Enjoy the experience of viewing cherry blossoms at night, lit by the soft glow of the bonbori lanterns.
