You can rent bicycles from the Wakasa Town Tourism Association, located just a 1-minute walk from Wakasa Station on the Wakasa Railway. For those using Wakasa Railway services, standard bicycles are available for free. This is ideal for exploring the many narrow streets of the Wakasajuku area that vehicles cannot access.
For those who want to go further or ride on slopes with ease, we recommend e-bikes (electric-assist sports bikes). These make it easier to visit popular spots such as Wakasa Onigajo Ruins and Fudoin Iwayado Temple.
We recommend cycling as a way of exploring Wakasa, so that you can experience firsthand the local culture and rich natural surroundings.
