This is the source of Yumura Onsen, which was discovered in 848. Hot water at a temperature of 98 degrees Celsius gushes out at a rate of 470 liters per minute. You can boil eggs and vegetables in this high-temperature “soup pot.” Eggs are sold at the nearby shop, so be sure to try making hot spring eggs.


Along the Haruki River, which flows through the center of the hot spring resort, is a hot spring exclusively used as a foot bath. It is fed only by fresh hot spring water that has just emerged from underground, so you can always enjoy high-quality hot spring water. Enjoy a blissful moment watching the carp and ducks swimming in the river in front of you.


This statue stands along the banks of Haruki River and is the symbol of Yumura Onsen. It depicts a woman in a kimono and was erected to commemorate the TV drama “Yumechiyo Nikki,” which was set in Yumura Onsen. In “Yumechiyo Nikki,” the protagonist Yumechiyo reflects on life through her encounters in a hot spring resort. The statue, modeled after the famous actress who played Yumechiyo, is a popular spot in the town.
