Aoya Town is the hometown of Inshu Japanese Paper, a National Traditional Craft. At this facility, you can understand the charm and possibility of Japanese paper Japan boasts to the world with pleasure, while you can have an experience of making Japanese paper. The facility also contains Japanese Paper Museum Shop where many kinds of products are sold.

Fee Admission to the permanent exhibitions is free. (To special exhibitions, charged.) Experience (reservation required) fees : handmade Japanese paper 500 yen, making a Japanese paper lamp shade 800 yen〜

Shikano Soba Dojo Workshop

Shikano Soba Dojo Workshop

You can easily have an experience of full-scale soba making, using 100% buckwheat flour (Shikano Town’s specialty product) ground with stone mill. You can try it on the spot.

Soba making experience 10:00〜, 14:00〜 (twice a day, reservation required), One dough fee: 2160 yen
Restaurant service hours 11:30〜14:00 (until 15:00 on holidays)

Access about 20 minutes by bus from Hamamura. The nearest bus stop is "Inaba Manyo Rekishikan Iriguchi". 5 minute walk from the stop.
