The museum is located in a corner of Kyusho Park, and exhibits materials about Tottori Prefecture, such as materials relating to the domain government. Especially, exhibition regarding breeding of cryptobranchoidea and the sand dunes are worth seeing. Special exhibitions are also held several times a year.

It is a museum of the "participation and experience" style, introducing history and culture of Tottori in an enjoyable way, making full use of CG or computer. The museum was found by Dr. Shoya Yoshida, who was born in Tottori City. He joined the Folk Art Movement in the early Showa Era. Not only traditional Tottori folk craft but also folk craft from various countries around the world are exhibited here. Old Ushinoto wares and Korean teacups are especially interesting.

Museum of crabs located at Tottori Port (popularly known as Karo Port), which is famous for a Japan's leading catch of Matsuba crab. "Matsuba crab farm" which shows their ecosystem, exhibition of crabs from the world, and study events are also conducted. The corner which you can see and touch marine creatures are very popular.
