Touch the Japanese tradition

Nagashibina Museum

Nagashibina Museum

"Hinanagashi (or doll floating)" is a traditional event continued in Mochigase-cho from the Edo period, which is held on the third day of the third lunar month. "Nagashibina Museum" is a large-sized timber building using the Kyoto Kinkakuji Temple as a motif. Inside the building, many Japanese dolls are on permanent exhibition, such as dolls and ornaments for the Girls' Festival that span each period including the Edo period, Kamo dolls, and Gosho dolls.
In front of the building, there is a "Hiina Bridge," where the melody of the Girl's Festival flows when one passes over it.
