Aoya Kamijichi Site is the remains of a village of the Yayoi period, which prospered from about 2200 years ago to 1700 years ago. In June 2000, about 5300 human bones (at least, 109 bodies) were discovered from the ruins of about 1800 years ago. Brains were left in 3 skulls among them. In addition, a variety of past articles remain in the site. They are preserved in an outstandingly good state, and therefore, the site is called underground museum of the Yayoi period. These items are exhibited in Aoya Kamijichi Site Exhibition Hall, and Volunteer Guides will explain you a detailed situation of those days in a vivid narrative style.(Prior reservation is required)
